| A popular drawing instructor in Hartford, Connecticut, Julius Busch was born in Dresden, Germany and emigrated to America in 1848. He stayed briefly in New York City and in 1850 moved to Hartford where he became known as one of the noted landscapist along with Eliphalet Terry, Henry Bryant and Joseph Ropes.
He died at sea in 1858.
