A portrait, landscape and interior scene painter much affiliated with the Cincinnati Art Academy, Lewis Cass Lutz was a student there from 1875 to 1878. Beginning 1877, he taught night classes there, and continued "as a teacher of drawing, perspective and finally oil painting until his death." (80)
