| | Born in England of French parents on Sept. 19, 1846. After arriving in California with the Gold Rush, Frick was active as an artist and remained self-taught. He later worked as a locomotive engineer in Oakland for 38 years. He died there on April 14, 1923. In: Society of Calif.
