Paul Prosper Tillier was born on November 2,1834 in Boupre, France. He entered the Ecole des Beaux Arts in 1855, and he is represented in The Musee de Troys.
Tillier was a proponent of French Academic Classicism. The artist made his debut at the Salon of 1863 and was a popular artist in his time. He was known for portraits of beautiful women. This accomplished artist studied under the academician M Coigniet.
