The following is from Lynn Breger who wrote: "I found this information on the back of frame of a painting depicting Spanish Church and signed lower left by GH Macrum."
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, George Macrum specialized in views of New York and its surroundings; he painted primarily urban genre, landscapes and harbors. He studied at the Art Students League under Frank DuMond and Birge Harrison.
Macrum was both a painter and a teacher. He exhibited at: Whitney Museum of American (showing 500 of 1644 characters). |
