A painter and dancer, Stella Block was born in 1897. She was self taught and lived primarily in New York City.
She exhibited at the Wehye, Montrose and Macy Galleries in New York City and at Doll & Richards in Boston during the 1920's and 30's, and the S. Ross Gallery in New York City in 1932 and later had exhibitions there in 1962 & 1982 and a retrospective in 1997.
Ms. Bloch was one of Isadora Duncan's six original dance pupils, and continued to teach Duncan (showing 500 of 962 characters). |
