| Family moved to Horton, Kansas in 1888 where his father operated a jewelry store. Bourquin worked in St. Joseph, MO, Omaha, NE, and Illinois before moving to New York, NY in the early 1920s. Worked as an accountant and played flute in a New York orchestra.
