Born at Newark, New Jersey, to Spanish immigrants Magdalena Berben
Martin and Juan Caballero Gutierrez, Emilio Caballero (born 1917) came
to the Texas Panhandle in 1937. He studied at Amarillo Junior
College, West Texas State College, and Columbia University, earning a
doctorate from Columbia in 1955.
Caballero then served in World War II in both Europe and the Pacific,
after which he taught art in Amarillo and Dumas. He began
teaching full time at West Texas S (showing 500 of 1862 characters). |
