| Frank Dolejska was born in Houston, Texas on February 25, 1921; he died in Houston on May 30, 1989. He was the first generation child of immigrant parents: Father – Austria-Hungary, Mother – Moravia. Dolejska, along with Robert Preusser, were two of the first non-objective painters in Texas, with early works dating from 1938. Basically self-taught, Dolejska was a student with McNeill Davidson for a brief period. After serving in World War 2, Dolejska returned to Houston w (showing 500 of 854 characters). |
