The following information is from Simon Fairthorne, descendant of the artist.

William Fairthorne son of Thomas Fairthorne and Sarah White Falkener was born 14 July 1812
(Source - Australian death certificate of his mother)

He was baptized 14 August 1812 at St Ann, Blackfriars, London
(Source - Parish Register kept at Guildhall)

In 1839 he was living in New York City at 68 Nassau and working at 350 Houston, Manhattan.
(Source - 1839 NY Directory) and was living in New York Ward 14 with his wife Hannah and son William F Fairthorne (Source - US 1850 Census).

In 1855 he was in Springfield, Illinois
(Source - Springfield Illinois City Directory 1855)
