| Born in Indianapolis, IN on Aug. 28, 1890. Hamilton began drawing at age six and later studied at the Indianapolis Art Institute. He was a resident of San Diego from 1914, with a studio in Balboa Park’s Spanish Village. In the 1930s he was employed in the art departments of the San Diego Union and San Diego Tribune-Sun. During WWII he worked in Trinidad in the West Indies for the Navy. While there he sketched many scenes of the natives. These sketches were finished in San Diego after the (showing 500 of 702 characters). |
