| Tokio Ueyama was born in Wakayama, Japan on Sept. 22, 1889. Ueyama studied in Tokyo and continued in San Francisco at the Institute of Art (1909-10). By 1922 he had moved to Los Angeles. After graduating from the University of Southern California, he further studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts where he won the Cresson traveling fellowship to Europe. After returning to Los Angeles, he established a gift shop called Bun-Ka Do in Little Tokyo. Ueyama died in Los (showing 500 of 1117 characters). |
