| Born in Pinsk, Russia. By the 1920s Hilda had immigrated to California. She studied art at UCLA, the Jepson Art Institute (Los Angeles), Pasadena City College, and UC Berkeley. Upon graduation in 1933, she became the wife of Joseph Levy and lived in Pasadena into the 1960s.
