Herman Magnuson Linding (1880-1947)
A New York wood sculptor and painter, Herman Linding was born in Sweden on June 1, 1880, to Eva (Elisson) and Alfred Magnuson Linding. He studied with the noted Swedish artists Reinhold Callmander and Carl Wilhelmnson, and also at the Academie Colarossi, in Paris that closed it doors in 1920. He immigrated to the United States sometime around 1903, eventually marrying the painter and lithographer Lillian Oestreich and, accordi (showing 500 of 1542 characters). |
