| At the time of his death in 1986, hardly anyone remembered reclusive Kintnersville (Bucks County) Impressionist/Expressionist, Fernand Gaston Longchamp. Born to a French mother and an artistic Cayuga-Iroquois Indian father, he grew up in Paris. Disturbed by the U.S. Army's 1890 massacre of Sioux Indians at Wounded Knee, South Dakota, his father had moved to France. There he set up an art studio and a business as a decorator. He was friendly with artists, Seurat, Bannard, (showing 500 of 2067 characters). |
