| | Born in Seattle, WA on Oct. 10, 1902. Padelford studied in Boston with Charles Hopkinson and received his M.A. degree at the University of Washington in 1925. The next year he studied art in Paris under André Lhote and others. In 1929 he moved to Claremont, CA where he taught at Scripps College for four years. The summer of 1931 was spent as a pupil of Hans Hoffman in Berkeley. From 1934-58 he was a color consultant for various movie studios. Padelford died in Pasadena, CA on June 17, 1994.
