Born in Los Angeles, Henry Fukuhara studied with Edgar Whitney, Rex Brandt, Robert Wood and Carl Molno. From 1987 to 1996, he taught art in Tokyo, and then taught art in high school and workshops in California and on the East Coast. He has been a resident of Santa Monica and according to Greg Sutton, in a note of June 2003, is still living in Santa Monica at the age of 90 and does watercolor work shops sometimes together with Milford Zornes.
