Otto Sandreczki was the eldest son of the Reverend Johann Anton Heinrich Sandreczki (1837 - 1922) and Elizabeth Margarethe (née Groben) (1845 - 1892). He was born in Brusque, Brazil, later became a United States citizen, was a sea farer and then attended the New York School of Art.
On November 5, 1917 he married Violet Gilpin (15 November 1887- 27 November 1977) at the Church of the Transfiguration, New York. Violet was born in Toxteth Park, Liverpool and was working as secretary to the French High Commissioner in New York. They moved to London and he became a British citizen on March 13, 1940. He was a commercial artist and some of his work for London Transport is of repute.
Otto and Violet Sandreczki had two children, both unmarried. Vera died in 2004 and John on September 10, 2009.
