| | Born in NYC on May 25, 1912. Schaffer studied at Chouinard Art School and with David A. Siqueiros. While a resident of Los Angeles in the 1930s-1940s, he painted murals for the Federal Art Project. At the time of his death in June 1983 his address was Los Angeles.
