This biography from the Archives of AskART:
The following information is from Nancy Biesemeier Dee.

I knew Jesse Scott for most of my life growing up here in Haxtun, Colorado with an avid interest in art--especially in watercolors.  In the early 1980’s, I and another artist friend painted with Jesse at her home close to Fleming, CO.  (At that time she had a small studio/apartment with her only-son’s family.)

Over the last 30 years, Jesse moved along with her son & lived in Sterling & Ft Collins, Co & eventually back close to Fleming.  Over the years, she lost her eye sight slowly & eventually moved into the Assisted Living Facility in Holyoke, CO.  I visited her several times while she lived in Holyoke & one day I decided to take along a painting of hers.  I showed her & the staff the painting & most of them didn’t have any idea that she painted representational watercolor.  (Jesse used many mediums.  I remember a show at the Junior College in Sterling where she had created an Egyptian Female Bust using stained glass & lit from inside...it was mesmerizing!  She also worked in oil & did portraits.  But probably because of my interest, I remember mostly her many, many paintings of rural farm & church locations with all the recognizable, rustic qualities familiar to the local farming families.)

In the later years, Jesse lost most of her vision but it didn’t stop her from being creative.  She moved into the more manageable medium of mosaic tile work…I have one of those pieces as well as a couple paintings.  She passed away a year or two ago. For me, Jesse was one of my first introductions to watercolor.  My passion for that medium has not wavered over the years.  (This year 2013, I had a pieces accepted into the Colorado Watercolor Show at The Foothills in Golden, CO & into the Artists Association of Northern Colorado’s National Show in Ft Collins.)  I have always felt a strong connection to Jesse & her work; especially since there are so very few of us artists in NE Colorado and even fewer watercolorist!  Jesse’s work can be viewed in homes, businesses, museums & libraries throughout NE Colorado still today.
