| Born in Jackson City, MO on June 5, 1878. Hattie Crippen studied at the Cooper Union in NYC. She then lived in Florida until settling in Los Angeles in 1899. She continued to be active in the local art scene after her marriage to Edward Talbot in 1902. Continuing her art studies, she was a pupil of Paul Lauritz and Theodore Lukits. Working in oil, watercolor, and pastel, she painted landscapes and still lifes. Mrs. Talbot remained in Los Angeles until her death on Oct. 23, 1944. Exh: Cali (showing 500 of 712 characters). |
