| Illustrator, painter, designer. Born in Las Flores, Baja California on Jan. 19, 1895. In 1909 Mario and his brother Juan moved Los Angeles. Although lacking formal art training, Mario became an employee of Universal Studios. He learned his craft there as a designer, art director, and painter of both miniature scenes and huge cycloramas including backgrounds and special effects for "King Kong" (1933). He studied at Chouinard School of Art during 1934-35 and did illustrations for magazin (showing 500 of 1107 characters). |
