Painter, illustrator. Born in Oakland, CA on April 18, 1894.
Grant studied locally with Frank Van Sloun. After serving in the
Army during WWI, he settled in NYC and spent the next 26 years in
advertising art. During this time he studied with Frank DuMond
and George Bridgman at the Art Students League, with Pruett Carter at
the Grand Central Art School, and taught at the Pratt Institute, Art
Career School, and Cooper Union.
