| The following, submitted December 2005, is from Isabelle Woodley, representative of the artist.
Jon Kessler is known for kinetic mixed-media and found-object
sculpture, installation, and as an art educator. Since 1983, he
has exhibited widely in galleries and museums through the United
States, Europe and Japan. His work has been collected by numerous
institutions including The Museum of Modern Art, The Whitney Museum of
American Art, the Walker Art Center, and both the Chicago and Los
Angeles Museums of Contemporary Art.
From 2000 to 2005 he served as Chair of the Visual Arts Department of Columbia Univerity’s School of the Arts.
Jon Kessler currently lives and works in New York City and Brooklyn, New York
