Daniel Greene is a leading pastelist and oil painter who is known for his portrait commissions which hang in the White House, the Smithsonian and the Metropolitan Museum of Art as well as his paintings in series such as the New York subway series, the auction series and the series of drinking glasses.
Greene dropped out of high school in Cincinnati and traveled to Miami where he stayed with relatives and made money selling pastel portraits on the street in order to save up for art school. (showing 500 of 11958 characters). |
