Born in Tokyo, Japan, Shirley Kaneda attended Claremont Graduate
University in California. She moved to New York City in
1970. She has exhibited widely in the US as well as in Europe,
and is especially active through writing and her painting and sculpture
promoting discussion of late 20th Century painting.
