Biography from Pennsylvania Capitol Preservation Committee:
| A native of Italy, Maragliotti emigrated to America at the age of 17. He studied architecture and fine arts and was noted for the decorations and murals he painted for the Copley Plaza Hotel in Boston, New York’s Strand Theatre, the Waldorf Astoria, and the Shubert Theatures in New York. He began his work for the Pennsylvania Capitol by decorating the South Office Building, first floor, north vestibule during the mid 1920s. He painted, repaired, and cleaned much of the artwork in the Capitol and the Capitol Complex Buildings from the 1920s through the 1970s. Between 1971 and 1972, he also painted the murals that fill the Capitol’s north first floor corridor.
