Erika Weihs was born on November 4, 1917. She was schooled in Vienna, Austria before moving permanently to the United States in 1940.
Weihs has exhibited at the Whitney Museum and the Carnegie Institute. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Museum of the City of New York, the New York Historical Society, the Schomberg Center for Research in Black Culture, the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Museum and Rutgers University.
