Born in Peekskill, New York, she was a painter, craftsperson, lecturer and teacher. Lewis' addresses are listed as New York City and Peter's Rectory, Peekskill, New York. She was a member of the Society of Independent Artists and exhibited there between 1921-22, as well as in 1930 and 1933.
