| | Born in Utah on July 9, 1850 to a German mother and Swiss father. Margaret was born during her parents' trek to California with the Gold Rush. She appears to have wed J. P. Cline early in life and painted as a hobby. Nothing is known of her art training; however, she became a skilled painter of still lifes.
