| | Born in California on September 29, 1887. While in San Francisco in 1900-03, Dressler studied at the Mark Hopkins Art Institute. By 1920 he was a cartoonist in Santa Barbara and by 1930 he had returned to San Francisco as a novelist. He died in Santa Clara, California on January 13, 1960. | Source:
