| | Born in Germany on Aug. 8, 1889. Lebarts came to the U.S. as a teenager. By 1910 he had settled in Los Angeles. An accountant, he painted in his leisure. Upon retirement in the 1950s, he moved north to Mariposa County and continued painting the scenery of that area. He died in Merced, CA on Aug. 14, 1977. Exh: GGIE. In: Merced Country Club. | Source:
