| Sanford L. Pollock was born in Cody, Wyoming May 22, 1909. Sanford was the brother of artists Charles and Jackson Pollock. The brothers studied at the Art Students League in New York City in 1929. In 1930 Sanford moved to Los Angeles and was an assistant to David Siquieros there in the mural in the Plaza Art Center in 1932. He died in New York in December 1963 under the name Sanford McCoy.
