| | Born in Palo Alto, CA on June 4, 1913 of Japanese parents. After graduating from the CCAC, Sato worked as a designer in Oakland for the California Cotton Mills and in 1940 began working for the WPA in San Francisco. At the outbreak of WWII, she was interned at Heart Mountain in Wyoming. Following the war in 1945, she moved to Chicago where she worked as an advertising artist for ten years. In the mid-1950s she began as a teacher of arts and crafts in the public schools of East Chicago, IN. She is currently a resident of Chicago. | Source:
