| Born in Milan, Italy. Raised and educated in Milan, Seregni worked for seven years for a Russian prince, M. Launitz from whom he learned marble cutting. In 1851 he immigrated to the U.S. After settling in San Francisco in 1858, he taught penmanship, drawing, and writing Pacific Business College until 1876. He then established a marble business in San Francisco which produced some of the finest statuary on the West Coast. He designed and erected many monuments to local mayors, governors, an (showing 500 of 723 characters). |
