| Born in Newburg, Wisconsin on May 28, 1857, Teed had settled in Los Angeles by 1887 and was teaching in the public schools. Never married, she died there on Jan. 31, 1949.
The following information was submitted by David Hollombe: Miss Teed did not live continuously in California after 1887. She left in 1890
and did not return to live in California until 1921. During much of the
intervening years she worked in the New York City Public School System.
