| A sculptor and art professor, Stephen J. Daly also does mixed-media
works on paper. He was born on Governor's Island in New York City
and lives in Austin, Texas where he is on the faculty of the University
of Texas, and in 1992 was one of 34 professors campus wide voted into
the Utmost Hall of Fame for teaching excellence. For sculpture he
has received the Prix de Rome from the American Academy in Rome, a
Louis Comfort Tiffany Award for Sculpture from that foundation in New
