This biography from the Archives of AskART:

The following information came from Little Terrace Gallery, New Hope Pennsylvania, 1963:

Robert White, a local artist whose realist paintings are on permanent exhibit at the Little Terrace Gallery, is already acclaimed as "the young genius who paints in the techniques of the Flemish Florentine Old Masters."

After several years of study under Jacques Maroger, Technical Director of the restoration laboratories at the Louvre in Paris, and author of The Secret Formulas and Techniques of the Masters, Robert White acquired the formula for reconstructing the oil medium used by the Dutch and Italian masters of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.

Robert White has achieved recognition as a Trompe l' oeil and representational still life expert - a field in which very few artists can succeed, because of its technical and artistic demands.  His paintings have been exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D. C., The Peale Museum and the Baltimore Museum of Art in Maryland, the well known Grand Central Art Galleries and the Wickersham Gallery in New York City.  His paintings hand in many private collections, including those of Mr. Charles White, Chairman of the Board of Republic Steel Corporation, Mr. Charles Bartlett, the well known Washington columnist, and in the collection of International Telephone and Telegraph to name a few.

Biography from Wolf's Fine Art:
The following obit is from the Washington Post, dated December 4, 2008.  Please note that this artist may be related to Robert H. White who died in 1947.   More research is required.

Robert H. White, 75, a Renaissance-style painter whose works hung in Washington at the Corcoran Gallery of Art and the Masonic temple on 16th Street NW, died of respiratory failure Nov. 25 at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.

Mr. White, a Winchester resident since 1999, specialized in the realist techniques of the Flemish and Dutch masters of the 1700s.  He painted for private collectors and commissions and sold his art to embassies and museums.  A room at the Scottish Rite Masonic temple, the Hall of the Regalia, is devoted to 38 of his paintings.

He also trained other artists, teaching from his home in Winchester, and previously in Alexandria.

He was born in Corinth, N.Y., and studied art in New York City and in the 1950s at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. He studied with painter Frank Redelius in Baltimore and devoted himself to painting in the style of the Old Masters.

His wife, Patricia Rodgers, died in 2003.  Survivors include two children, Melissa White and Christopher White, both of Winchester.
