The following information was submitted by Fred Owers:
Paul Elsas was Jewish. He was born March 6, 1896 near Stuttgart in Germany. In 1912 he enrolled in the art school in Stuttgart. In 1920 he moved to Munich and in 1927 he moved to Paris where he remained through the war.
Soon after the war my father who was a childhood friend of Paul's and I visited him in his studio in Paris where he gave a small painting to my father. I own it now.
