Marlies Ihmels (a.k.a. Marlies Ihmels-Herget) is a German-American painter and designer.  Born in Germany, she has lived and worked in Europe and the United States.  Her studio is located on Long Island in New York where she currently resides.  Her works of fine art and design are based on the principals of structural balance thus conveying a distinct inner harmony.

Marlies Ihmels' professional expertise in the field of fine art covers many areas.  Mrs. Ihmels has gained experience as curator for international art exhibitions, has taught and lectured at the New York Academy, at MIHstudio, and other private institutions.  She has given speeches at private social clubs in New York City and galleries.  Her paintings have been widely exhibited in several Solo Exhibitions and Group Exhibition at museums, universities, galleries and other organizations.  Her subject matter includes allegorical figure composition, portraiture, still-life, landscape and abstract art.
