 Jeno Karpathy
Born in Debrecen, Hungary in 1870, he died in Budapest in 1950. Studied in Budapest with Bertalan Szekely and in Paris, France and Brussels, Belgium.
He lived in Belgium for 25 years where he exhibited his work. When the first World War broke out he returned home to Budapest.
From 1919 to 1921 he exhibited at the National Salon; 1924 Mucsarnok (Government Exhibition Hall); 1934 The Lipotvarosi Casino honored him with a one man show
Open air subjects were his favorites. His paintings Rainy Day in Dunafoldvar and Spring are in the permanent collection of the Hungarian National Gallery in Budapest. His paintings are also in the permanent collection of the Museum of Omaha, Nebraska and other private collections.
