|  Born in Pakistan, Ambreen Butt went to Boston in the mid-1990s for graduate art studies. Her themes in her miniature paintings are relationships and independence, and she contrasts her small figures with large spaces.
In 2006, she won the $5000. Maud Morgan Prize from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
