Reprinted from The Horse and Hound in Art, with additions. Lionel Edwards RI, RCA British 1878-1966
Born in Clifton, the son of a doctor, this painter's artistic talents came from his maternal Scottish grandmother Ann Robertson, who was a pupil of Romney. He studied under A.S. Cope at South Kensingtron, at Heatherleys and with Calderon. He was greatly impressed by the work of Aime Morot.
A keen hunting man, he spent his life combining hunting and pain (showing 500 of 1915 characters). |
