Born in Georgia and spending her adult life in Texas and Oklahoma, Laura Buchanan was an easel painter, magazine illustrator, designer and teacher. In New York City, she studied commercial design and then in Texas was a painting student of Frank Reaugh and John Knott. She created cover illustrations for Holland's magazine, a national publication, for about 10 years, during the 1940's.
As a fine art painter, she did mostly still life, but did many landscapes, portraits (showing 500 of 723 characters). |
