Paul MacCormaic was born in Dublin Ireland in 1961 and continues to live and work there. He has been exhibiting since he was 17 years old and was largely self-taught when he embarked on his formal education in art a the age of 41. He had already 4 solo exhibitions by then and had won the prestigious KPMG Prize for painting at the Oireachtas Expo (official Irish government exhibition)in 2001.
