| One of nine children, Arthur Walter Weissgerber was the son of Friedrich Karl (Charles F.) and Katherine (Schreiber) Weissgerber who were married in 1884. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on December 4, 1893. His father, originally from German, had immigrated to the United States in the early 1880’s and settled in Milwaukee. He originally worked as a shoemaker but by 1910 the family had moved to the Schleswig Township, Manitowoc, Wisconsin, area where he became a farm (showing 500 of 2127 characters). |
