| Born in Spokane, Washington on April 24, 1899. Bloomer (aka William Dampier) spent most of his career in Los Angeles in a studio atop Mt Washington and in Laguna Beach where he was active in the local art scene. His teachers included Jack Wilkinson Smith and Ejnar Hansen. An impressionist, his work is characterized by brilliant color and fine draftsmanship. He often used a palette knife to create landscapes and still lifes. He died in San Diego on August 15 , 1985.& (showing 500 of 1341 characters). |
