This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| H. Evan Sanders was born in Montrose, Colorado in 1914. Sanders moved to Fresno, California at an early age. He began painting in the late 1920s and continued for sixty years. During the 1980s he painted extensively in Hawaii and had a gallery on Maui. Eschewing the changes in art styles, he painted landscapes and seascapes in the 19th-century-realist style. Sanders died in Long Beach, California on December 7, 1996.
