| Erminio (Herman) Armando Scapicchi was born in Italy on Feb. 2, 1911. "Herman" Scapicchi settled in Pasadena in the late 1930s. He died there on March 7, 1994.

According to the Social Security Death Index, Scapicchi's Social Security number was issued in Illinois which confirms that the artist lived in Chicago, Illinois before moving to California in the 1930s.
