|  Carl Valente was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1928. Valente studied on a scholarship for several years at the Cleveland Art Institute. He eventually settled in Los Angeles and worked in the art department of the Herald Examiner. In his leisure he painted landscapes, mission scenes, and English cottage genre. He currently lives in southern California.
